Two years ago, Spain ended up victorious in "The Battle for the Ring"; the Red Dwarfs, A.K.A. the Red Devils, took home the European Cup after defeating Germany with a show of style.
This year, the game of Spain has not been so brilliant as it was under the direction of Luis Aragonés, but it is getting increasingly happier as it reaches the final stages of this 2010 World Cup, and preserves, still, the smell of beauty that made them champions of Europe in 2008.
Chile, Ronaldo's Portugal, Paraguay and now Germany have licked the grass; the Spanish Dwarfs look unstoppable, and even The Netherlands seem an easy cake for the Reds.
Spain is overwhelmed with optimism. Just as much as Holland would have preferred to meet their all time enemy Germany, Spain would have chosen a final with Brazil, to turn their quest into a Legend.
The Netherlands versus Spain; Orange-Nassau versus Borbón; Holt, the Land of Woods versus Saphan, the Land of Rabbits. Holland versus the New Holland. No final battle against Sauron this year for the Red Dwarfs, and no mythical Samba to remember; just a beautiful game to be.
Four days to go. Can't wait.
