It is not that I want to make it bigger than it is -just the best score so far in this World Cup- nor that I am not conscious of the important amount of luck and/or grace with which the Spanish team has been touched -the second goal was funny! And have you seen the fourth? Truth is that Spain had not won its first World Cup game since 1950 -when it ended up fourth. But let's just wait and see what happens this time.
Beautiful start anyway for the Spanish Reds after all favourite teams, probably poluted by Germany's monotonous rhythms, did pass their initial games only scarcely (Brasil-Croatia, 1-0) when not sadly (Germany-Poland, 1-0) or not at all (France-Switzerland, 0-0). Only the Czechs and the Australians seemed to enjoy their respective victories.
Well, I am not proud of this but I must confess I fell asleep during the inaugural Germany-Costa Rica; to be honest I hadn't slept the night before, but still... hope it does not happen again. No matter what I'll surely try to sleep well before the games scheduled for the 21st and 22nd; simply do not miss these: Holland vs. Argentina, Australia vs. Croatia and the Czechs against Italy! Go Czechs! (well, I really like Italy but I cannot help feeling a visceral animadversion on the Italian team. Sorry for that).
As for now, the national spirit of the northwestern Arabs and Barbarians of the Mediterranean Littoral, the Spanish Sein, Wesen, Essen, or... well, it grows with every goal... We are (already) the champions!
OEEEE OEOEOEOEEEE OEEEEE OOEEEEE!!!!
